The Manvers Green Residents Committee

Manvers Green Residents Group

Welcome to the Manvers Green website

Manvers Green in Wath upon Dearne, South Yorkshire is the beating heart of our small community and has a significant impact on our community's health. We are happy here, and our Green is a central part of that happiness. We walk and play on it, we look at it, we appreciate its flora and fauna, we are thankful for its presence.

The Green is threatened by a housing development, which will bulldoze our green space for the sake of yet more homes in our over-developed Dearne Valley. We, the local residents, are mounting a robust and vocal campaign to protect the land, supported by the Open Spaces Society. The passion and community spirit evident at our meetings and informal gatherings on the street is empowering and inspirational; we believe we have a fighting chance to protect our precious space for the sake of future generations.

We believe that we have constructed a robust and passionate argument for why our green space should be formally recognised as a Village Green. This would mean that no developer would be able to threaten it, now or in the future.

Please help us by getting involved in our campaign. Sign our online petition or get in touch with us to find out what else you can do to help.

In an area with a rich history of industrialisation, our green spaces have never been so much under threat. For the sake of Manvers Green, and other valuable green spaces, please spare a few minutes to support our determined campaign. Help us make our fighting chance a winning one.

Thank You
